Here are the dates for registration for the 2010 - 2011 school year:

Cherokee Bend:

Monday, August 23rd 2:00 - 4:00
Wednesday, August 25th 2:00 - 4:00

I will also be at the Meet and Greet on Monday, August 16th.


Mountain Brook Elementary:

Thursday, August 19th 4:00 - 6:00
Thursday, August 26th 2:00 - 4:00

I will also be at the Open House for each grade, if possible

It is that time again! I will set registration days after our Instructors Meeting on July 31st. Days, times, and cost will remain the same as last year.

Mt. Brook Elementary - Tues AND Thurs.

Cherokee Bend Elementary - Mons. AND Weds.

Anyone wanting to avoid the chaos of registration and secure one of the limited spaces available may come by MBE the week of July 26th - 30th 9:45 - 11:30 in the lunchroom and take care of the paperwork. You must let me know what day and time you will be coming.

Due to mandatory instructors meeting, we will need to reschedule the July 31st camp. More details soon!

When: Saturday, June 26th 8:00 - 4:00

Where: Cahaba Heights School Gym

Who: Instructors will be myself and Renchi Mike Nichols. Everyone is invited. Any rank....even students that aren't taking karate yet, but would like to do so.

What: We will work on lots of karate, lots of fun stuff, and just having a good time. We will provide lunch and a snack. You drop them off with us, go enjoy your day knowing that they are safe and having fun, and pick them up by 4:00! Weather permitting, we will be inside as well as outside so bring your uniform and comfortable shoes you can run in.

Cost: Less than $9/hour and we feed them!

It is VERY important that you let me know that you are interested. Your check is your reservation.

Below is the schedule for our "theme week" summer karate. Each week we will focus on one aspect of karate. All ranks are welcome. The last week in July is reserved for Brown and Black Belts only. Classes will be held in the lunchroom at MBE 10:00 - 11:30 Monday - Friday. Please call or email for cost and details.

June:

June 14th - 18th - KATAS
June 21st - 25th - WEAPONS


July:

July 26th - 30th - Brown/Black Belts Only

Today is the last day for "Earn your student foam chucks". A BIG thank you to those who have signed in everyday! I hope this has helped you see what a wonderful and informative website we have. If there is something important going on, it will be posted here.

Please remember we will not have class tomorrow at CBS due to the school holiday.

We're in the home stretch! One more day! There will be new pictures up on my page any day now. Mr. Cole has them and will be changing them ASAP!

Day 5! Just two more days!

I received confirmation from Mrs. Treadwell and Mrs. Bell. We will have class right after school gets out during Parent Conferences later this month. I will send a reminder email.

There are times during the school year when your school will get early. This happens at the end of this month due to parent conferences. You might wonder what happens to karate class when your student gets out at 11:55! Usually, we are able to have our class right after they get out of school. So, if the students get out at 11:55, we will have class 12 - 1:00. Please be considerate on these days and make sure to arrange pick up ON TIME.

I will be confirming with Mrs. Treadwell and Mrs. Bell this week for the early dismissal at the end of this month.

Day 3! Cherokee Bend will not have class on Monday due to the school holiday. Please remember that you are welcome to bring your student to my classes at Mt. Brook on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This is the kind of information that I will always post here. If you have a question, check her first!

Cherokee Bend Oct 28 / Jan 20 / Mar 24 / May 19

Mountain Brook Oct 29 / Jan 21 / Mar 25 / May 20

Each testing for a new belt will happen during class. On testing days, please plan on class running longer than usual. There is a permission slip and testing fee needed. I will send an email very soon with the permission slip and information. Yes......I will get my white belts ready for their first test!

Here is the first of the seven entries for our contest. This is where you need to come to find out anything that might be happening in our class. The website has a lot of good information and is updated regularly. I will be changing the pictures on our page soon. We have a testing for our next belt coming up at the end of October. I will post dates and information on the Tuesday entry.

P.S. I went ahead and made this entry for Monday because I will not be back in town in time to do it then!

Just a reminder: We will not have classes at CBS on Monday, September 7th due to the Labor Day holiday. I will see you guys on Wednesday!

Well, our "official" registration days are over and we have quite a class! There are VERY few spaces left in the beginners classes at MBE and CBS. Students are welcome to join our classes through out the year...if spaces are available. Please contact me for availability. See you next week!
